Shared boundary

Local hosting changes the data route. It does not confer compliance.

A customer-controlled server can reduce compulsory external processing and give the organisation more control over access, logs and model version. It does not select a lawful basis, preserve privilege, approve an engineering change or verify a financial conclusion.

Every sector design therefore needs a named data owner, an operating owner and a human checkpoint with authority to stop or correct the workflow.

Sector fit check

Three owners should be named before a pilot

  1. Data owner

    Decides what may enter the system, the lawful purpose, retention and who may retrieve it.

  2. Professional or process owner

    Defines the acceptance set, human review and the decisions the model must never make alone.

  3. Technical service owner

    Owns access, updates, backup, logs, incidents, facilities and the fallback route.
